STUDENTSSSSSSS....
Please be sure to memorize the statistic you were given last Saturday - for those of you who were not present when those were given out, I will attach all stats (including one for YOU), here very soon.
ALSO ... keep checking the blog for possible 'scene' information - based on the scenes created this past weekend as well as other fun things bubbling in my mind (and Mrs. Raskopf's).
Again, HAPPY HOLIDAYS! See you in 2013!

Permission to put photos online.
Dear Parents,
We would like to upload photos taken during our workshop sessions. However, before uploading anything to the blog I need your written permission to do so. If you could please send your child with written permission to next Saturday's workshop that would be grand - unless you do not want photos of your child on the blog. Then we can begin uploading photos of the work your children are doing!
Thanks a bunch!
~Margaret

Saturday the 15th
Hello everyone.
Our next workshop is SATURDAY DECEMBER 15TH. We would like to extend by one hour so the workshop will run 9am-1pm. Please have students bring two small snacks with them - even though we are running until 1pm we will not have any substantial "lunch" breaks.
STUDENTS:
Don't forget to bring a situation with you on Saturday, that we can use in one of our improvs.
*Another piece of theatre etiquette to remember ... while projecting your voice, articulate your words. Make sure it is at a volume the audience can hear and said clearly!!!
See you Saturday!

Some source material...
We had another GREAT workshop on Saturday! Improv work. Discussion about bullying - how we can create a performance that will entertain while showing that bullying is not ok. We also began discussing how we might shape our actual performance...good things!
The students involved in this project have provided some really great source material. Mrs. Raskopf and I have supplemented some other things...
Here's a video Mrs. Raskopf found and we watched during our workshop on Saturday. Powerful images.

Excellent first Workshop!
We had an excellent first workshop today!
Improv Rules to remember:
1. Don't think, just do!
(Go with the first thing that pops into your head.)
2. Justify your actions!
(Make sure what you're doing makes sense with what is going on in your scene.)
3. Yes, and ...
(Always accept what your scene partner(s) offer you, and then add onto it - justifying your addition.)
4. Be clear - for your scene partner(s) AND the audience.
5. HAVE FUN!
Other things to remember:
1. Use your body! Actors don't just stand around...they MOVE!
2. Project your voice! Volume, volume, volume. If you are not using your voice how will the audience know what you are saying?
The students involved in the project brought, and shared, some really great material regarding bullying - a topic that affects so many. It is seen and experienced around the world, without regard for age, gender or nationality. We hope to open the eyes of all those taking part in the project and all who see its final presentation.
Next workshop date - SATURDAY DECEMBER 8TH 9am - 12noon
*once again, please bring a snack.
Next step ... impoving with the material ...
Questions ... feel free to email Ms. Hall at margaret.e.hall@gmail.com
